ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS (EMR)

WFP is in the initial stages of implementing an electronic medical records (EMR) system. An EMR is a computer-based medical record system that facilitates

· more efficient access to patient data by clinical staff,

· accurate claims processing,

· clinical notes,

· prescription writing,

· scheduling,

· and sending and viewing labs and other health documents.

We are very excited about the EMR system, for it will be tremendously helpful to capture, store, and organize the health information that we use to better manage the care of our patients. Data is organized within the system in a way that is more readily accessible by our clinical staff, and much more useful than paper charts ever could be.

Your privacy is protected on our secure system by the use of data encryption and electronic user access restrictions. Only those individuals authorized to view your private information have access to your electronic chart.
